Stay true to our original aspirations and keep our mission firmly in mind

　　In October 2017, the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) was held in Beijing, attracting nationwide attention. General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered a report on behalf of the 18th Central Committee. The theme of the Congress was: Upholding the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics, we will strive to win a decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, achieve a great victory for socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, and work tirelessly to realize the Chinese Dream of great national rejuvenation.

Staying true to our original aspiration and keeping our mission firmly in mind. "The original aspiration and mission of the Communist Party of China is to strive for happiness for the Chinese people and for the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation." This was President Xi's clear declaration at the 19th National Congress of the CPC. It is a guiding light for the progress of all ethnic groups in China, leading us to strive for progress and strength, to shoulder the historical mission and major responsibilities of the new era with high spirits. As a Communist Party member, I am proud of this sacred historical mission and strive for this important responsibility.

In 1949, the first bright five-star red flag of New China rose slowly on the flagpole in front of Tiananmen Gate, proclaiming to the world the founding of the People's Republic of China! The Chinese people have stood up!

This year is 2019. China has gone through seventy years. After seventy years of trials and tribulations, our motherland remains unchanged and is thriving and developing vigorously. Our comprehensive national strength has continuously increased, joining the world's forefront; the people's living standards have continuously improved, rushing towards a well-off life; the national quality has gradually improved, and society has developed harmoniously...70 years ago, everything was in ruins, and 70 years later, all industries are flourishing. From 1949 to 2019, China has developed from a poor and backward country into the world's second-largest economy. All this is inseparable from the correct leadership of the Communist Party of China. It can be said that without the Communist Party, there would be no New China, and there would be no prosperity and strength of New China.

The glory of our great motherland today is the result of generations of our predecessors who sacrificed their lives and shed their blood. From the first gunshot of the Xinhai Revolution to the resounding declaration "The Chinese people have stood up" on Tiananmen Gate, countless heroes have paid the ultimate price.

Yao'an Village, Shangzhang Township, Xianju, is a land with a revolutionary tradition. It is the location of the former Xianju County Committee of the CPC. During the Land Revolution, the Anti-Japanese War, and the Liberation War, the 13th Red Army of the CPC carried out a series of revolutionary activities here. In order to more closely experience the glorious history of the revolutionary base area, strengthen patriotic education, and promote the patriotic spirit, in March 2018, the Party Committee of Zhejiang Yongling Hydraulic Machinery Co., Ltd., led by Secretary Wu Shi Nian, organized party members and cadres to visit the Shangzhang Yao'an Red Base, review party history, pay homage to martyrs, commemorate the heroic deeds of martyrs, learn the patriotic spirit of the revolutionary base area, and pursue revolutionary red memories, and to practice the Party's mass line education and practice activities with practical actions.

During the activity, the party members and cadres visited the Xianju County Committee Memorial Hall and the Red 13th Army Armory ruins with feelings of remembrance for revolutionary martyrs. They learned in detail about the history of the battles and recalled the arduous revolutionary years, commemorating the selfless dedication and heroic struggle of revolutionary ancestors.

Through the visit and study, the party members and cadres expressed that they should remember history, inherit the glorious traditions and revolutionary spirit of their predecessors, improve their party spirit, enhance their party spirit and sense of purpose, focus on their work, serve the people, and strive to complete various tasks assigned by the higher-level party organizations.

After the activity, on the way home, party members and cadres exchanged their experiences and shared their insights and gains from the activity. Passing near Huang'ao Reservoir, a comrade found a piece of wood lying across the left lane. We pulled over and got out of the car to take a closer look. The wood was about 20 centimeters in diameter and about 2 meters long, probably rolled off a tractor carrying wood. This mountain road has no streetlights. If left unattended, when it gets dark, pedestrians and vehicles coming from the opposite direction will not be able to see the road conditions clearly, and traffic accidents will inevitably occur, with unimaginable consequences. Without saying a word, Comrade Zheng Bingmin moved the wood to the side of the road at the foot of the mountain.

As the ancients said: Do not think that good deeds are too small to do, and do not think that evil deeds are too small to do. Seemingly simple actions can avoid unnecessary losses. As a Communist Party member, why not do it? Striving for the happiness of the people is the responsibility of every Communist Party member. We cannot tolerate any uncertain factors that may harm the interests and safety of the people. Serving the people starts with small things. Many hands make light work. If everyone can abide by social morality and do some good deeds within their capacity, then society will be more harmonious and peaceful.

The road ahead will not always be smooth. The piece of wood lying across the road is a stumbling block on the road to a bright future. As long as we have a bright ideological awareness and the great belief of "serving the people" in our hearts, it cannot stop our progress.

From the clarion call of reform and opening up to the proud standing of our great motherland on the international stage today, countless role models have dedicated their lives to this cause. The new era has given each of us Communist Party members new propositions. Staying true to our original aspiration and keeping our mission firmly in mind first requires us to understand what our original aspiration and mission are, how to implement and carry out this original aspiration and mission in striving for happiness for the Chinese people and for the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and how to play our part in this period of great historical transformation.

Staying true to our original aspiration means keeping in mind the fundamental purpose of wholeheartedly serving the people; keeping our mission firmly in mind means keeping in mind the historical mission of our Party to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. I believe that different positions have different answers. As enterprise employees, we should stick to our posts, do our jobs well, strive for progress, overcome difficulties, hone our skills, and improve our work ability in the process of constantly overcoming difficulties, gain experience and wisdom in practice, win social value, and contribute to the motherland. Even if we cannot become pillars, we should be qualified stepping stones, allowing the motherland to stand at the top of the world.
